“No Surprise” Policies

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 23 years + (For Car, Minivan & SUVs, Cargo Vans)
  • 25 years + (For 12 & 15 Passenger Van)

SECURITY DEPOSITS:

Each vehicle rental requires a minimum $200 security deposit/authorization to be placed on a BANK ISSUED Credit or Debit Card.  (Prepaid debit cards, gift cards and Chase Liquid cards are not accepted).


INSURANCE:

Customers may apply their own full coverage insurance to the rental, if they present documented proof of their coverages (i.e Insurance Declaration Page is acceptable, an Insurance ID card is not).  Otherwise, our Physical Damage Waiver (PDW) is required and available at $28/day.

  • PDW Deductibles
    • If the damage is deemed to be “no fault” or “mutual fault”, the renter is responsible for paying up to the first $2,000 for repairs to the rental vehicle.
    • If the damage is deemed to be the fault of the renter, the renter is responsible for paying up to the first $2,500 for repairs to the rental vehicle.

MILEAGE:

For Car, Minivan & SUVs:

  1. Each Rental Day Rate (24 hours) includes 150 miles
  2. Additional Miles are charged at a rate of $0.20 per mile

For 12 & 15 Passenger Vans:

  1. Each Rental Day Rate (24 hours) includes 100 miles
  2. Additional Miles are charged at a rate of $0.20 per mile
  • Cargo Van Mileage Rates are dependant on which rental package is purchased.

CANCELLATIONS:

For all Car, Minivan, SUV and Cargo Van Reservations:

  1. If reservation is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit will be returned less $10 or 10%, whichever is greater.
  2. If reservation is cancelled between 7 days and 29 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit can be used as a credit towards a future rental of any of our vehicles for up to 12 months from original rental date.
  3. If this reservation is cancelled less than 7 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit will be forfeited.

For all 12 & 15 Passenger Van Reservations:

  1. If  reservation is cancelled more than 60 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit will be returned less $10 or 10%, whichever is greater.
  2. If this reservation is cancelled between 30 days and 59 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit used as a credit towards a future rental of any of our vehicles for up to 12 months from original rental date.
  3. If this reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the scheduled pick up date, the deposit will be forfeited.

REFUELING:

Renter is responsible to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as indicated on their signed rental agreement. Otherwise, they agree to pay a Refueling Penalty of $7.00/gallon for the unreturned fuel. (Important! If fuel level is lower than indicated on the agreement at time of pick, the customer is responsible to inform the rental agent and get an updated agreement BEFORE leaving the premises.)


SMOKING:

Smoking of any substance is strictly prohibited in any vehicle , by any occupant, at any time. Failure to comply with this policy will result in a minimum $200 Smoking Penalty.

PETS & INTERIOR:

Aside from human beings, pets and/or animals of any other kind are prohibited in any vehicle .  Failure to comply with this policy will result of a minimum $100 Pet Penalty.  Additionally, monetary penalties will be charged for excessive odor, stains and/or burns inside the vehicle.


LATE RETURNS:

Definitions:

  • One Rental Day = 24 hour period (Not calendar day)
  • Due Date/Time = Indicated on agreement at time of signing

Vehicles returned beyond the Due Date/Time will be charged as follows:

  • < 1 hour :       Free Grace Period – No Additional Charge
  • 1-2 hours:      33% daily rental rate and associated fees
  • 2-3 hours:      66% daily rental rate and associated fees
  • 3-24 hours:    100%  daily rental rate and associated fees

LOST KEYS:

If keys are lost and/or not returned, the cost of replacement keys/remote control and any other related costs (such as vehicle towing & storage) is the sole responsibility of the renter.


PAYMENT AUTHORIZATIONS:

If the rental vehicle is not returned by the return date/time indicated on the rental agreement, the customer authorizes Action Auto Rental reserves use the credit/debit card(s) provided at the time of rental to charge any late/rental fees on a daily basis until the customer returns the vehicle or provides another form of payment.


LATE PAYMENT:

If a rental agreement expires and the vehicle has not been returned and payment isn’t available on the card(s) on file, the renter will be assessed an additional $20 late payment fee for each day payment isn’t made.
